The pottery wheel is a never-to-be-forgotten experience for all involved. Your 90 minute pottery experience starts in our pottery room with a hand building lesson plus individual lessons on the pottery wheel. Each person will have an opportunity to throw one on one with the instructor with all levels welcome. 

    • 1.5 hours in our studio with additonal 30 mins for prep and cleanup, includes 6 attendees: $480
    • each addtional person above 6 will be $85/person, with Max of 18 people
    • Each person will throw a piece of pottery with the help of the instructor
    • Particpants have to be 8+ years old .
    • A lesson on hand building (coil pot, mask, or other options)
    • Instructor does firing and glazing (included & returned to you in approximately a month)

Ages: 10 - Adult

When: Weekly on Monday  

Time:   09.30am -11.30am

Tuition:   $175.00 per month* (clay purchased separately): 

Registration Deposit:  $175.00 ( Applied to last month of classes with 30 day notice).

Levels Taught: Beginner/Intermediate  

 Do something you have always wanted to do - learn how to throw on the pottery wheel to make your own bowls, plates and cups!  You can also hand build boxes, pinch flower pots, sculpt animals or your favorite anime or video-game character.  Basic skills will be emphasized for beginners, and as students progress they can choose their own projects while continuing to build their skills.  This is an ongoing class.

 Register below paying first month’s tuition plus last months tuition( Total $350). 2 months commitment needed.

*Tuition includes a monthly supply and studio fee of $20 which the McKinney Art House will use to purchase ceramic supplies such as Glaze for pottery classes and for studio firing fee and dedicated shelf space.

Please Note: Students are required to purchase their own clay, either independently or  through the teaching artist. As clay usage varies based on individual projects and experimentation, it is not included in the class fee.

**A deposit of $175 goes towards the last  month of your tuition. If you decide to stop the class at any time,  you must  notifiy no later than a month in advance else you will lose the deposit. We have a waiting list, in most cases, and/or turn people away because of limited space. Knowing you will discontinue a month  in advance helps get your spot filled.

Looking for a fun and creative way to spend time with loved ones? Our Private Pottery Sessions at Folklorez in McKinney Art House, offer the perfect hands-on experience for families, friends, or special celebrations. Whether you're planning a family bonding activity or a relaxing night out with girlfriends, these sessions are designed to bring people together through clay.

Classes need to be scheduled minimum for 2hrs. Due to the nature of the pottery process, one time private lessons includes a finishing fee and  the instructor will complete your projects (trim and/or glaze).  Private lesson is for 2 or 3 students only. if you have 4 or more please contact artist for group lessons.
